Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become a Sea Cadet or League Cadet?

Call the CO, Chief Winslett at 334-790-3377 or e-mail co@ironcladdivision.com. Fill out the required forms on the "JOIN" page and bring them with you to the next drill or your scheduled Orientation.

What does it cost to join the Sea Cadets?

SCHOLARSHIPS AND SPONSORSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE

to help with the costs!

Effective January 2, 2009, the annual enrollment fee to join any unit of the NSCC is $53, which goes entirely to the National Headquarters to cover insurance, administrative costs, ID card issue and correspondence.  This is an annual fee due before your enrollment expires.

Are there any special costs related to the Ironclad Division? UPON ENROLLMENT (first year only) cadets are to pay a $100 non-refundable uniform rental fee to help cover the costs of uniforms, training materials, unit administrative processing, and other incidentals.  This may be split into two $50 payments or whatever combination is needed to accommodate you (arrangements must be made with the CO).  Through generous sponsorships and donations, the cost charged to cadets is now only $100.

For any drill weekend cadets must have 2 lunches, 1 dinner and 1 breakfast. In an effort to keep chow organized, lunches will be cooked by the Parents' Auxiliary or occasionally taken at Ft. Benning.  We make every effort to keep the total cost to $20 to cover the cost of these meals. Cost of meals is subject to change.  Read the POM for further information.

What is the cost of Recruit Training or other Advanced Trainings?  Each cadet is responsible for fees associated with training camps. National Headquarters pays 1/2 the fee and the cadet is asked to pay the other 1/2.  The 2009 fees are as follows:  a 2-week training camp evolution will normally be $240 that each cadet should pay; 1-week and 9-day evolutions will be less expensive. These fees are set by National Headquarters and are subject to change.  Cadets are responsible for their own transportation to/from camps.  This is NOT included in the fee.
